about me
I'm a full-stack engineer with a career spanning banking, e-commerce, and SaaS. I built and led teams at J.P. Morgan across trading and loans technology before moving into the startup world, and today I'm a Staff Engineer at SingleFile.
I've been around enough production systems to know when to build, when to reach for something off the shelf, and how to make the two work together.
I like working in teams as much as I like working alone. I'll mentor junior engineers and help them level up, step into a technical lead role when a project needs it, or put my head down and ship. AI tooling has become a natural part of how I build, and I've found it makes the whole team faster when used well. Four cities, two continents. Pick one, or spin the globe.
- Houston, Texas
- Everything is a thirty-minute drive, including the things that are close. Learned that "but it's a dry heat" is something people say about other places. Left with a permanent and unreasonable opinion about breakfast tacos and BBQ.
- New York City, New York
- Manhattan. Paid rent for a room I could cross in four steps. Walked more in a week than I'd driven in a month in Houston.
- Brooklyn. Crossed the river for more square footage and immediately filled it. Learned which subway car stops nearest your exit, which is a real skill.
- Seattle, Washington
- Owned four rain jackets and used an umbrella precisely never. "The mountain is out" is a legitimate weather report, and I started using it. Coffee stopped being a drink and quietly became a personality.
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Learned to bike in the rain, in the wind, and eventually with no hands. Dutch staircases are less stairs than a ladder with strong opinions. Found out "gezellig" has no English equivalent, and that this is our problem.
